"I Feel Like An Imposter"

If you have walked around Disneyland in the last couple years, you’re sure to have seen Jeff Granito’s work. His art is everywhere, on the merchandise, on the popcorn buckets, all over the Wonderground Gallery… but that’s not what we’re here to talk about.

Jeff is an interesting person. He made a leap from a history degree to doing art, he has expert level vector skills, and he has done a lot of work with a lot of large brands. All of this and he but he still has impostor syndrome?! What?!

This episode ended up being an interesting talk about finding your way and doing what you love, even if you have to take a round about way of getting there. He says some harsh things here and there and even called himself the crusher of dreams, but he has a realistic, and very honest, outlook on finding your way that is much to be appreciated.

Recipe for Success

T to Tea is a small mom and pop shop in Arcadia, CA run by Max and Kitty, an extraordinary duo that really know their tea. A the time of writing, they’ve only been around less than a year and already have a large pool of loyal, returning customers. T to Tea has even earned a solid 4.5 star rating on Yelp in a neighborhood known to be a competitive foodie scene with no shortage of boba shops.

One of T to Tea’s key factors to success is their “no shortcuts” motto. They’ve tested all of their recipes again and again to make sure their customers get nothing but the best. Here, the staff takes extra effort to value customers, even walking drinks over and personally handing them to the customer. Despite Max and Kitty’s lack of prior business experience, they continue to surpass the expectations for even the most passionate of bobaholics.

Finding your way with Sakuradragon

Sakuradragon is a full time small business owner, artist, and EXP Boosting’s very own Dark Mage. Everyone has a little bit of darkness in them and learning to channel that energy into something magical is part of growing as a creative.

After starting in a web development career that didn’t end up working out, Cindy quit her full time job with no savings and jumped right into doing a small creative business full time. Since then, she has run a successful Kickstarter campaign, raising $15,000 to print her artbooks, and has even been featured on Sakura of America’s (a popular art supply company) site. In this episode, we’ll learn a little bit about Cindy and what motivates her to be at her best every day.
